Bacuri, mangoes and life

Life could not be better here in Bacuri! I love Imperatriz, and I LOVE my companion, Sister Finati. We atually lived together in Parnaíba, then I was her LTS in São Luís, and now we are LTS together here in Imperatriz. Heavenly Father is blessing me, for sure.

I have to admit, saying goodbye to São Luís was super hard, especially saying goodbye to our investigators. I was bummed out that they closed our area, due to the fact that the members aren't proactive, and the number of missionaries is falling like crazy.. PRAY FOR OUR INVESTIGATORS PLEASE! I hope and pray that they can continue to learn about the gospel and soon after be baptized.

So our situation here in Bacuri. The area divided, so there are 4 of us living/working here together - Sister Finati, Sister Dias, Sister Caetano, and I.
Not too much has happened in our area yet, due to the fact that we had the leadership counsel in Teresina this past week, as well as zone conference.
Crazy story of the week: yesterday, we had Stake Conference with the Seventy of the Area, Elder Guedes. Sister Finati and I sat in the very back with a couple visitors and investigators, just listening to his talk. Which was great, all about missionary work, and our personal conversion... and then he got to the part about the first vision, and the spiritual power present when we hear a missionary describe this moment. He continued by saying "So I would like to do a prática. We want to hear one of the missionaries here tell us the first vision, and I asked Presidente Melo which elder or sister I should choose, and he said SISTER HILL. Sister Hill, are you here?"

OH MY GOODNESS I just about melted into my chair. Sister Finati mais ou menos had to push me towards the front, I was so shockd. So yes, I related the first vision, and bore a quick testimony of Joseph Smith, and the fact that he was called as a prophet in the front of 300 people, Presidente Melo, and a member of the seventy. Welcome to Imperatriz, Sister Hill.

But I hope that everyone has a wonderful week! Thought of the week is this video, that I absolutely loved:
Super cool, I urge everyone to watch it and apply it to your week. (Seriously, as I watched it here in the Lan House, I was just covered with chills. The church has such cool videos it's not even funny)

Imperatriz Bound

After serving here in the ala São Luís for 5 meses, I have been transferred for Imperatriz! My companion is Sister Finati (super stoked) and yeah. That's all, tudo vai dar certo!

But we definitely saw miracles this last week of the transfer. Throughout this whole transfer we had a lot of struggles.. with health and hospital trips, and I had to renew my visa, and we had a ton of problems with the other sisters here in São Luís. Yes, this was a long hard transfer. But I am so grateful for Sister Vidal, and we grew really close this transfer. Grateful for hard things and the lessons learned.

Miracle of the week was definitely yesterday. We met a woman named Celma, and her daughter Jalime (12 yrs) in the road, and conversed a bit with them. She shard about her life and the fact that they have lots of problems in their family - expecially with finances. We promised her that if she would come to church, she would feel the spirit and start to see a difference in her life. And what do you know - she showed up. Along with 8 other investigators! We had André and Carla and Shaolina - 3 people with datas por batismo - as well as Kevyn, Kevynne, Gabí, Celma and Jalime. It was so awesome to see this people with real intent to learn about the church, and partake of the sacrament.

But I am super grateful for my time here in São Luís. I have grown close to so many of the members here, and felt so close with the people that we meet and teach and invite. I will sincerely miss the area São Luís <3

boa semana!

Photos, Photos, Photos

Quick update on the week!
Luckily we are feeling a lot better (tchau sickness) and we are back to work. Met a ton of awesome new investigators this week, really people who are interested to hear our message! Super pumped to continue with them this week.
Milagre of the week:
Yesterday, we were running to pick up investigators to go to church, 3 jovens. As we arrived, were they ready for church you might ask? no. They had forgotten.. but asked us to wait for them so that we could walk together. At this point, it was 3:20... and church started at 3:30. So we decided to pray, just asking Heavenly Father that they everything would work out, that we could make it to church in time to partake of the sacrament - and WOOHOO they were speedy, and we took an onibus, and arrived exactly when they were passing the sacrament! Miracles happen. Also, we had 7 investigators in sacrament meeting (: Yay yay yay! I love that they were able to feel the wonderful spirit that is present durante the sacrament.

Hope everybody has a wonderful week! This is the last week of the transfer, so we are booking it here in São Luís!
Grande abraço! Boa semana!
