Hellooo Teresina

Yes, I have been transferred to TERESINA. It was super funny how we received the transfer, because we were literally walking in the middle of the road heading to a lesson when we received the call. It was a bit of a shock, because Sister pereira and I were 90% positive that we would stay together for one more transfer, and after we received the call she started to cry. This transfer was so good and we saw SO MANY MIRACLES. I definitely will miss Imperatriz and Sister Pereira, and I am sad that I won't get to continue with all the great families we are teaching :/ But it's all good.

Due to the fact that we received the call Sunday, I ended up not saying goodbye to nearly anyone (ha), but we booked it to the house of Karine, Antonio, and Lucas to say goodbye. And it was hard! Really it's difficult to say goodbye to these people that you grow to love so much, as you see their spiritual progress, and you want to keep teaching them! #missionprobs but I know that everything has a purpose. I hope I can return when they go to the temple in a year <3 <3

My new companion is Sister Alves, and we are the lts here in the staff of Teresina for all the sisters... it's a tad stressful, but life goes on. Hopefully I can learn quickly all the addresses, pessoas, and places that we need to go. Also, craziest thing: we are the sister training leaders of the sisters in Parnaíba... so I will return to do splits! WOW!

Love you all! Have a wonderful week!

Baptism and Blessings

oi gente! today is super rushed!
but this week was so good! We have been working so so hard in our area, and we are seeing so many miracles, sister pereira and I. I am so grateful for the blessings that the Lord gives us here in the field, and in life! Really, when we do our part, everything works out. This is the Lord's work and He is in charge.

We had the baptism of Antonio Karine and Lucas this week <3 so so incredible. It was awesome to see the support of the ward (finally). They are a family so prepared to receive the gospel in their lives. Watching them be baptized was the sweetest thing. Antonio was baptized first, and as he was being baptized, Karine just started to cry - which of course made me start to tear up a bit (because hey i'm human okay). She told me later that she never imagined her husband arriving at this point, that her family could be baptized and be sealed together for eternity, that they would be a family that went to church! The gospel has truly changed their lives.

At this point of my mission, time is flying by SO FAST it's not even funny. It feels like just yesterday this transfer started! This is the last week of the transfer, so we are booking it to work our booties off! I really hope and pray to stay here in Bacuri for one more transfer with Sister Pereira! The Lord has placed so many families in our path!

boa semana for all!

the book is blue and the church is true

Super quick update of the week!

This week was super rushed, but good! We ended up doing splits a few times because the sisters here in Imperatriz were sick, but luckily everybody is good and well now.
We had zone conference, and focused on the book of mormon - super spiritual. Grateful to understand and apply the importance of the Book of Mormon in my mission, and in my life as well (:

But all is good here! We are preparing for the baptism of the Ponte family this saturday, and they are so great (: Please pray for them that all goes well!
Have good week everybody!

vida é boa

updates of the week:
physical therapy is super rad! I seriously want to do this as my career after my mission now. So yeah, everything totally happens for a reason.
But this week was super good! First of all, my foot is doing a ton better, and I am finally walking like a normal human being again (: thank you for all the prayers and fasts - I am so so grateful becuase without a doubt, that is why I am doing better.
But we saw some great miracles this week!
First of all - Carine, Antonio, and Lucas. The best. family. ever. from Belem. We invited them for baptism on the 20th of January and they accepted! They are so incredibly prepared, and excited to live the gospel. Honestly, I was blown away when Antonio had a question about the prophet, asking how we would get a new prophet - and then explained exactly how it works with the apostles, the seventy, everything. If that doesn't show how prepared they are, I don't know what does.

We are also teaching the husband of a less active (Josilene), Jason. She recently returned to church, and her "husband" (they aren't married) came along a few times. The first lesson we had with him he had a lot of doubts, and kind of just wanted to bible bash.. so we left him with a part to read in the book of mormon and to pray about these things. Great. Returned a few days later, and he said he had lots of questions and doubts, and started asking about a bunch of stuff that he had read on the internet *insert huge sigh* look, I love the internet, but really. There are some ridiculous things that exist on the internet about the church.
He started to get into bible bash mode, when I just cut him off and said - "before we start can we say a prayer?" hahaha. He seemed a bit thrown off, but we said a prayer to invite the spirit. And the lesson was so spiritual, and we were able to explain about Joseph Smith, and the Book of Mormon in a way so clear that we recognized was only possible through the Spirit. I asked him if he had read the book of mormon, and he said "no", just looked on the internet, so we invited him to READ the thing that will answer every question! We will be teaching them tonight/answering questions about the temple, so I'm stoked.

BUT all is well here in Bacuri! Pray for Jason, Carine, Antonio, Lucas, and Leilane this week!

Feliz Natal! Feliz Ano Novo!

Happy New Year All! I have to say that I love this time of year, but this year was strange. Because when it's 90 degrees and sunny, it's a tad difficult to say "it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas..." but hey, it happens.

This week was super rushed, but good and we saw so many miracles.
Tuesday Sister Pereira and I traveled 15 hours de onibus to Teresina (yay living the dream) for a lidership conference, which was all centered on the Book of Mormon. So so spiritual, motivating and powerful as we focased on the importance of the Book of Mormon in our religion, missionary work, and true conversion. (will send pics next week (: i forgot my card today..)
But update of the work here in good ol´ bacuri! My new companion is Sister Pereira from São Paulo. She is a little socially awkward, but so funny and I love her. I can definitely see that I am the one driving this train as far as teaching, contacting, and leading goes. But we work really well together, and have been able to work miracles these past 2 weeks. We have met a lot of great people, especially a family that recently moved here for Imperatriz.
Carine, Antonio, and their son Lucas, are from Belem and started taking the missionary lessons there. Carine owns an açaí shop here now, and they are already super excited to know the church (: We will be inviting them for baptism this week, so PLEASE everybody pray for them that they will feel the spirit touch them, and receive a testimony of these truths that we are teaching.
I officially start fisioterapia tomorrow - life is a-okay!
thank you for all the thoughts and prayers, i am truly so so blessed.
wonderful week for all!
